The special security concept of the terminal and the exceptional function of the U.S.
Terminal in Ramstein as the „Gateway to Europe“, lead to the development of a reception
building which is located in front of the terminal. Friends, relatives and sponsors
await the oncoming flight guests at this point. Here, the arriving passengers can find
rental car agencies and hotel information.
The round, glass pavilion functions simultaneously as a connection point to the parking
deck and future hotel and shopping area, by means of the connection bridges.
The planning for this also included all architectural design and civil engineering
planning as well as the technical equipping of the building.
