New technical security requirements for U.S. government real estate require conscientious
renovation of the bases. For example, buildings lying within 45m of the exterior fence
must be moved or structurally reinforced. The driving entrance and parking situation
required replanning as no passenger vehicles are permitted to drive within 25m of a building.
For property with limited space, such as the communication barracks, the guidelines can
only be fulfilled by means of a parking garage with approx. 740 parking spaces.
